Just Arrived

By the time the library opens again, Christmas Day will be over. But technically, the Christmas Season lasts twelve days, so you may still be in the holiday spirit. If you are, and would like to check out some new Christmas DVDs, you are in luck. Here are a few we received this past week.

Holiday Classics: Scrooge / Beyond Christmas / March of the Wooden Soldiers. This three DVD set contains some old, classic favorites from the 1930s and 1940s. You can watch them in the original black and white, or the newer colorized versions. Scrooge is an original adaptation of Dickens’ classic story starring Sir Seymour Hicks. Beyond Christmas tells the story of three older men who become guardian angels to a kind-hearted young couple. March of the Wooden Soldiers is a Laurel and Hardy favorite based on Babes in Toyland.

Just in Time for Christmas. In this Hallmark Hall of Fame romantic fantasy, Lindsay has a difficult choice to make. She has been offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to teach at an Ivy League University. But that will mean moving far away from her longtime beau who wants to marry her. A Christmas gift from a magical messenger allows her to see three years into the future to help her decide what will be best for her and her devoted boyfriend.

Santa Stole our Dog. Ed Asner stars as Santa in this fun movie that features original songs by Dolly Parton and John Schneider. The Whitehaven family dog goes missing on a snowy Christmas Eve. They believe that Santa has taken him and embark on an exciting adventure to the North Pole to get him back.
