Staff Picks: The Body Under the Bridge
Need a suggestion for something to read or watch from the library this weekend? Maybe you'd like to check out an ebook or audiobook? Try some of our Staff Picks, to find what some of the other people in our parish are enjoying.
We know that not every staff pick will appeal to every patron, but not to worry! If you need help selecting something, we have online tools like Book Browse and our Online Catalog, or you can ask one of our friendly staff members to help search for you.
The Body Under the Bridge, a Father Gilbert Mystery by Paul McCusker
Father Gilbert is a former Scotland Yard detective and now is the priest of a small Anglican church in a small Sussex town. In this book, he helps figure out how a suicide at the church is linked to a two hundred year old body found beneath an ancient bridge.
It is more than just a mystery, you will also find spiritual themes about good, evil, the family and the consequences of our choices.
After having heard several Father Gilbert Mysteries radio dramas, this was the first printed selection I have seen. I am familiar with some of the things Mr. McCusker has done. He was a contributor to Focus on the Families radio drama, Adventures in Odyssey. If you like a few chills along with your faith, you may like this as I did.
If The Body Under the Bridge interests you, feel free to request or check it out. We'll be back next Thursday with a different Staff Pick.
