Free Music from The Monkees

Here they come...You know The Monkees tv show? (The Library has both seasons). They were four wacky teens in a band who got into scrapes and had many zany adventures. Freegal, the free and legal website that gives you 5 free downloads weekly and 3 free hours daily of commercial-free streaming music has some of The Monkees music and also solo albums from two of the members Davy Jones and Micky Dolenz.

“I’m a Believer” from Sugar Sugar: The Very Best Pop Golden Oldies of the 1960’s.

The original Monkees Theme labeled “The Monkees” from Aquellos Maravillosos Anos.

The song “Words” found on The “In” Sound Presented by the United States Army with a 1 minute intro by Harry Harrison and followed by a 1 minute interview with Davy Jones.

“That Was Then, This Is Now”, “Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere”, and “Kicks” from Then & Now...The Best of The Monkees.

Kellogg’s jingle simply labeled “Food” from Celebrity TV Commercials.

And instrumental versions of The Monkees songs by The Golden Gate Strings from The Monkees Songbook (originally released in 1967): “(Theme From) The Monkees”, “I’m A Believer”, “Last Train to Clarksville”, “Mary, Mary”, “I Wanna Be Free”, “This Just Doesn’t Seem to Be My Day”, “She”, “I’m Not Your Steppin’ Stone”, “Auntie Grizelda”, and “Saturday’s Child”.
