During Phase 2, the Beauregard Parish Library is open with limited hours and limited services. Additional details can be seen here. Within those limitations, further closures may become necessary on short notice due to staff shortages. We will update our social media accounts in those instances. Patrons are also welcome to call 337-463-6217 x 0 during the DeRidder branch's open hours for the most recent updates on branch openings. Computer use is limited and by appointment only. Patrons can schedule appointments online here or by calling 337-463-6217 or in-person by asking a library clerk. Appointments are set at 45-minute intervals. No consecutive appointments for 1 person.

Want to give audio books a try but don’t really know where to find them, or what the different types are? This Find it Friday is for you! Here at BPL we have two different formats for audio books: Playaways (a small device that plays the book through headphones, much like an iPod) and books on CD. Each format can be useful in it’s own way. The Playaways are great if you want to listen while moving around the house, the yard, or even at the gym while the CD’s are ideal for a long car ride.
How to find the Playaways: Playaways have the code AP. If the book is considered an adult book the call number will start with AP (Adult Playaway) and if it is a junior book it will be labeled APJ. At the library the Playaways are easy to distinguish from the books on CD because the cases are typically orange and “Playaway” will be written on the front of the case.
How to find the books on CD: CD’s will have the code A-CD on the spine of the case. You can search the titles you are looking for in the online catalog to find the call numbers and to see which titles are currently available. Happy listening!
