In today's Tech Tip we are going to show you how to explicitly allow popups from a website that you trust in Firefox and Google Chrome.
In Firefox click the icon represented by the 3 horizontal bars on the far right of your broswer (newer versions of firefox only.) It is next to the home button. From there click "Preferences" and then go to the "Content" tab. Next to "Block pop-up windows" you will see the "Exceptions" button. Clicking on that button will allow you to input the address of the site you want to except. After entering your site click "Allow". That's all there is to it.
In Chrome you will also begin by clicking the icon with 3 horizontal bars to the right of the address bar. Next we click on "Settings" and then scroll to the bottom of the list and click on "Show Advanced Settings". Under the Privacy listing click on the button labeled "Content Settings...". Once here scroll down to the Pop-ups listing and click the button labeled "Manage exceptions...". From here you can enter a website to allow popups just as in Firefox. You can also manually deny them from here. When done click "Done".
We hope that these tips give you a little more control over what popups you see (or don't). Happy browsing!
