7: an experimental mutiny against excess by Jen Hatmaker
Seven is a true life story of a woman who is fed up with American abundance. She challenged herself and her family to strip their lives of excess, one area at a time, one month at a time. She starts the project off by jumping in headfirst and eliminating (to the extreme) excess in her diet, for one month Jen & her husband decide to only eat seven food items. Jen will have you laughing until tears roll as she shares her experience with you. The second month she deals with clothing. If you are a woman, I’m sure you can imagine the challenges that come with deciding which SEVEN clothing items you would “like” to wear for thirty straight days. If you are a man, you are probably imagining the amount of time you would save on waiting for your lady to get ready.
Seven began as an experiment and turned into a life changing practice. This book is written with a spiritual aspect geared towards helping folks follow a Biblical viewpoint. However, in today’s society where tiny houses, home grown gardens, and saving money are things people are striving for, Seven can connect with any reader.
