Patrons are also welcome to call 337-463-6217 x 0 during the DeRidder branch's open hours for the most recent updates on branch openings. Computer use is limited and by appointment only. Patrons can schedule appointments online here or by calling 337-463-6217 or in-person by asking a library clerk. Appointments are set at 45-minute intervals. No consecutive appointments for 1 person.

Teen Tuesday: Cure Stigma

Cure Stigma

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and to honor it, the Young Adult room in the DeRidder branch is featuring a "Cure Stigma" display all month.

Browse the display and check out some staff-picked books that feature a variety of mental illnesses. Learn how the characters heal, recover, and ultimately grow from their experiences. Some of the featured titles and their respective themes include:

    All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven: Bipolar Disorder, Grief, Survivor's Remorse
    Schizo by Nic Scheff: Schizophrenia, Guilt, Recovery
