The DeRidder branch of the Beauregard Parish Library is now open Monday & Tuesday & Wednesday & Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Thursday from 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Details of our COVID-19 Phase 3 operations can be seen here. We are working on hurricane clean-up and remediation to return service to our rural locations as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.


Anniversary of First Telegraph Line

On this day in 1844, the first telegraph line in the US between Baltimore, MC and Washington, DC opened. Samuel FB Morse, creator of the Morse Code, sent the first officially telegraphed message: "What hath God wrought?"
