Teen Library Council is Now Youth Library Council

It’s Back-to-School time so that means signing up for sports, clubs, and other activities!

Beauregard Parish Library is in their third year of having a Library Council and have decided to lower the grade level requirement. Youth that are in grades 5 through 12 can now apply to join the Youth Library Council!

The meetings will take place on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 4:30PM at the DeRidder location and will last one hour.

The YLC will be performing different tasks such as learning to straighten shelves properly, weeding books, and assisting the programming department with tasks and preparation. In the first meeting of the school year, YLC will play a key role in the planning of upcoming Library events such as Anime Club, Teen DIY, and Makers.

To show our gratitude, active members of the YLC will be invited to attend a small end-of-year party where they will receive pizza, a drink, and a small token of our appreciation.

To apply, you can pick up an application at any of our branches or go to the Teen section of our website where you can apply online or print the application directly from the website.
