This October, BPL is proud to bring you resources and opportunities to get assistance with civil legal matters such as custody and guardianship, landlord / tenant concerns, wills and estates, and more! Here are some of our offerings this month:
- Wednesday, Oct 8: local attorney Deven Thompson, Esq. is at the DeRidder branch from 4-6pm to offer free legal advice and guidance on a range of civil issues. No appointment needed, though you may need to wait your turn.
- Tuesday, Oct 21: Louisiana lawyers from the Access to Justice program are offering free, private, mini-virtual consultations on civil matters. Pre-registration starts on Sept 30 and is required for a 20 minute consultation between 9:15-11:45 since very limited spots are available! Alternatively, you can take your chances on availability for a 15-20 minute drop-in session from 2:00-4:00 (first-come, first-served). These consultations take place in our Civil Legal Resource Access booth at the DeRidder branch. Call 337-463-6217 or drop by the DeRidder library branch to secure your spot, while they last!
