Our 2023 Summer Reading Theme is All Together Now: A World United!
Join us the DeRidder branch for an exciting kick-off to BPL’s 2023 Summer Reading Program! Come out for a day of fun crafts, games, and other activities, including a javelin throw, carnival games, a race or two, and so much more!
When you get tired, stop into the library for refreshments and speak with a clerk to get you and your littles (and bigs!) pre-registered to participate in our 2023 Summer Reading Program. There will be awesome prizes for each age range, and you won’t want to miss out! Our SRP will run from June 1, 2023 until July 31, 2023. You’ll have two months to read as many minutes as you can and try to read the most minutes in your branch to win an exclusive “Most Minutes Read” prize!
2023 is all about teamwork, kindness, and together-ness. Whether you’re big or small, young or old, we’ve got something interesting for you. We’ll be celebrating our community partners and volunteers, highlighting some of the awesome non-profits in our community and how they contribute to the well-being and life enrichment of Beauregard Parish residents, and learning about the world and cultures around us!
All summer long we’ll be exploring different cultures around the world, starting with Africa and venturing around the continents until we tie it together with our central theme: A World United! Claim a grab-n-go activity bag themed to a country from each continent, attend a fun program that features these awesome places, and learn about the interesting history and lifestyles of people from these places.
Summer 2023 is going to amazing, and what better place to kick off your summer than the Library? Come on out! We look forward to seeing you.
