The Beauregard Parish Library will meet in regularly-called session at 4:30 on Monday, Aug 2, 2021 at the DeRidder branch of the library, 205 S. Washington Ave. Click here for the full agenda. Find It Fridays

Tomorrow is Independence Day in the United States and from the staff here at BPL we hope that you all have a great day celebrating with friends and family. It is important to take a step back from the fireworks and BBQ’s to remember the history of the day we are about to celebrate. Independence Day, comonly known at the Fourth of July, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from Great Britain. This Find it Friday provides you with links to the World Book Encyclopedia where you will find more information about Independence Day.

World Book Kids: By searching for “Independence Day” in the search box of the World Book Kids database you will find information that is easy to understand and kid friendly. Kids can complete the searches by themselves and receive reliable and accurate information.

World Book Timelines: Use the World Book Timelines database for a closer look at the events that occurred around the time of the Declaration of Independence signing on July 4, 1776. By searching “United States” in the search box of the Timelines Homepage you will receive many timelines that document the foundation and history of the United States.
