The first time you check out a Playaway on your Library card, the Beauregard
Parish Library will give you a free Playaway Accessory Kit. Your kit will
include:
- A set of earbuds : While Playaways do not require any specialized
equipment, you will need earphones. Playaways use a universal headphone jack
which will also work with most commonly available car adapters as well as
other headphones or earbuds.
- Two extra AAA betteries : The Library sends provides a fresh battery
with each Playaway. Additionally, there may be time left on the battery inside
the Playaway. For most Playaways, this will be sufficient. We do suggest,
however, that you keep an extra battery handy just in case.
- Lanyard for "hands free" listening.
The Library does not sell earphones, batteries or lanyards. Additional
supplies (AAA batteries, headphones and lanyards with a "cell phone"
loop) may be purchased in stores or on the Internet.
