Eligibility:
ILL service is available to patrons as an aid to research and study. Patrons are encouraged to exhaust resources available at Beauregard before requesting material via ILL due to the length of time it may take to borrow material and the expense involved in preparing and mailing the material.
How to Apply:
Verify that the required material is not owned by Beauregard by checking the Library Online Catalog. Articles from periodicals that are missing or not available at Beauregard may be available electronically. Please consult with Reference or ILL staff regarding this option before sumbitting an ILL request for an article.

Request forms are available at the Reader Services Reference Desk, by phone or mail. Or you may e-mail a request to w1bg@beau.org Beauregard Parish

How Long Will It Take?
It may take anywhere from 7 days to 3 weeks to receive materials, depending on location and availability. Whenever possible, requests are transmitted electronically, borrowed from the closest holding library, and delivered by courier within the State or by mail from outside the State. Photocopies may be faxed, depending on copy quality, length of the article, and the policies of the supplying library. Because ILL cannot predict the location or availability of an item, we cannot guarantee that material will be received within a specified time period. Borrowers are encouraged to submit ILL requests well in advance of deadlines.

How Will I Be Notified When My Materials Are In?
Once an item is received, ILL will notify the borrower by telephone mail, or e-mail. Materials may be picked up at the Library Circulation Desk.

Length and Condition of Loans:
The lending library specifies the length of time materials may be kept, usually two to four weeks. Renewal of material should be requested at least seven days prior to the date due. Some libraries may not grant renewals, so please plan to pick up and use ILL materials promptly.
The lending library may specify conditions for use of material, such as "no copying permitted" or "for use in the library only".
Patrons are responsible for the safe return of loans to the Library. Failure to observe the rules of ILL may result in the loss of borrowing privileges for the borrower as well as for Beauregard Parish Library ILL.

Borrowing cards may be obtained from the Beauregard Parish Library Circulation Desk.
