Circulation Desk

The Circulation Department provides access to the Library's collection of books, audio/visual materials and periodicals. At the Circulation Desk, you may check library material, return or renew library material, register for library cards, & pay fines.

    Patrons may check out as many items as they need, using their Beauregard Parish Library card. Library cards from other Libraries SouthWest Member Libraries may also be registered for use at Beauregard Parish Library. This includes cards from Allen, Calcasieu, Jeff Davis, Cameron & Vernon Parishes.

    How long may I keep it?

    Most items are loaned for two weeks. Items may be renewed one time if they have not been requested by another patron.

    How much does it cost?

    Books, periodicals & printed material

    Overdue print materials are fined at .30 per item per day. Audio/video materials are fined at .50 per item per day.

    ILL Material

    ILL material will be charged at $1 per item per day past the due date.

    Material Not Returned By Week 4 Past the Due Date

    After the third week, patrons will be billed for the replacement cost of all non-returned material (print or A/V).

    Damaged Material

    Damage other than normal wear and tear may be charged to the patron to whom the item was checked when the damage occurred.

    Lost books should be reported to the Circulation Desk immediately.

    Unpaid bills may be sent to the Library Board of Control and/or a law enforcement agents.

    There is a $1.00 replacement fee for a lost or damaged Library card.

    Help! I can't find it.

    If you do not find an item in the stacks, ask at the Reader Services Desk. The staff there will assist you in locating the item or in placing a reserve on it.

    If a book you need is checked out, you may request at the Reader Services Desk that the book be held for you upon its return. You will be notified when the book is available, and it will be held for you at the Circulation Desk.

    Books needed to fill reserves may not be renewed.
