Are you having a problem printing a PDF file? |
| Many PDF files print correctly from any
PDF reader. Some will only print from the XPDF reader. Unfortunately,
applications sometimes prefer to call one of the other PDF readers.
If you have a PDF file which does not print or only prints part of the
pages, this should solve the problem:
- From the PDF reader window, select File and Save (or Save a Copy)
- Pay attention to where the file is saved and to the name of the file.
You may need this information to locate and open the file in XPDF
- Save the file (click Save or OK)
- Close the PDF window
- From the Applications (foot) menu, select Graphics
- Select XPDF Viewer
- Right click in the window and select Open. If right click does
not bring up a menu offering 'Open', take off the number and caps
locks and try again.
- Locate the file you saved in the 'Files' list, click to highlight it
and select Open
- Click on the printer icon and click Print

Do you have a web page or e-mail which won't print? |
| Sometimes clicking in the portion of the
web page you want to print just before selecting 'Print' will solve the
problem. This will usually work if only the top or side of the page is
printing.
If clicking does not work, copy the contents to an Open Office document
and print from there. This will also work if you use the Text Editor instead
of Open Office.
- Bring up Open Office
- In the web page or email, left click the mouse on the beginning of the
area you want to copy and drag until you have hi-lighted the entire area.
- Right click the mouse somewhere in the hi-lighted area and select 'copy'
- Right click the mouse in the Open Office document and select 'paste'
- Print from the document (file, print)
