Rules for Listings on the Business Page
- Any business, government agency, or non-profit organization with a
presence in Beauregard Parish can have a listing on these pages with
no charge.
- Listings can include information such as hours of service, location, etc.
- Library staff, or a volunteer, will do a BRIEF page for your
business, which can include some limited graphics. Due to
limited resources for setting up and maintaining pages,
and other rapidly changing information cannot be included in pages
maintained by the Library staff or volunteers.
- All pages which are housed (use disk space or other resouces) on the
ParishWide Information Network computers must remain in compliance with the
policies and procedures of the Library and the ParishWide Information
Network. At this time, prices for individual products are not being
included on pages housed on the library's servers. However, any
page which shows prices and is housed on another server may be linked
to the pages maintained here.
- If you already have a page on another system, let us know and we'll
gladly post a link to it. If you wish to move your page to our
system, and it falls within the guidelines, let us know and we'll
gladly see about moving it.
- If you wish to develop and maintain your own page, lessons on HTML,
the language used to write web pages, along with many other resources
to assist you in learning it, are available at the Library and on the
Internet.
Submissions:
- To apply for a page, fill out the appropriate Web Page Request sheet.
These can be gotten at the Library on Washington Ave.
- Be sure the application is signed by the appropriate person, and bring
it in to the Library.
- Along with your application, you may include a very few small items to
be scanned and included in the page, or you may bring your own
graphics, and/or text, on floppy.
- How much space may a business use? At this time we are not setting a
limit. Please try to keep the graphics files small and watch
the space you use.
- What if the Library runs out of space? If we begin to get short on
space, we will try to find funding to purchase
additional disk space. If we are not successful, we will look at limits.
Informational or "added value" sites will have priority on space.
