During the month of March, we will be highlighting free library resources that help you get a little more "luck" in your life, and it might lead to a hidden pot of gold you didn't know about!

The topic for this week is Antiques and Collectables, and at the library we have several resources in print. Most of the books are at the DeRidder branch, but our circulating antiques books can be requested and checked out at any branch.

If you are comfortable using Dewey numbers to find things in the library, most antiques and collectables will be found filed under 745.1. Whether it's a book or a DVD, that is where you'll find antiques in Beauregard Parish Library.

If you like to collect other materials, though, you may need help searching our catalog for them. Some people search for information on classic cars, depression glass, or stamps. Some of the most popular collectables are coins and paper money, and the library carries the Official Blackbook Price Guides to help you determine their value.

If you want to look up educational videos on antiques, don't forget that the library has the Access Video on Demand collection for many of your educational video needs.
