Need a suggestion for something to read or watch from the library this weekend? Maybe you'd like to check out an ebook or audiobook? Try some of our Staff Picks, to find what some of the other people in our parish are enjoying.

We know that not every staff pick will appeal to every patron, but not to worry! If you need help selecting something, we have online tools like Book Browse and our Online Catalog, or you can ask one of our friendly staff members to help search for you.

Amish community cookbook. Simply Delicious Recipes from Amish and Mennonite Homes by Carole Ruth Giagnocavo

This book is a compilation of simple delicious recipes from Amish and Mennonite homes and families across North America. The dishes are a reflection of Amish and Mennonite culture and agricultural heritage. Their food has always been thought of as old-fashioned and hearty tasting. You can discover real comfort food with these authentic country recipes.

Awesome photos are included, as well as highlights of Amish and Mennonite lifestyles enjoyed throughout daily activities and in community relationships. This collection of recipes demonstrates their close connection to the land and the use of all natural ingredients. So, if you're in the mood to learn about harvesting and consuming your own homegrown foods, then let this be your next pick!

If Amish community cookbook. interests you, feel free to request or check it out. We'll be back next Thursday with a different Staff Pick.
