This is the last of our four-part series about making the most of the Beauregard Parish Library's resources to get the job you want. These three digital resources are all available for free to card-holding patrons.
Life Skills 101 from WorldBook Encyclopedia has a nice overview of entering the working world. This can be for young people working for the first time or older people who need a refresher before reentering the workforce.
AVOD: Access Video on Demand has videos that will help you with job hunting, acing your interview, and more. Some of the videos pertain to specific jobs, and there are a few that demonstrate body language in an interview.
If you need your resume proof-read or you'd like to get a confidential second opinion, you can do that through Homework Louisiana or Tutor.com. [Librarian note: Homework Louisiana is available Sunday through Thursday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and Tutor.com is available outside of those times.]
If you have other job needs, such as a computer to complete job hunts, you can do that at the library. If you don't have your Electronic Services user name and password, be sure to bring an official photo ID with you and fill out the application. Our clerks will take care of you right away so you can get online.
As always, the Beauregard Parish Library is here to help you! If you have any library-related need, don't hesitate to ask one of our friendly staff.
