One great way to get yourself in the Christmas spirit is to watch some of the many, many Christmas movies that come out this time of year. Some of the most heartwarming films are part of the Hallmark Channel’s Holiday Collection. Each year the library adds many of these DVDs to our own collection and they remain very popular with our patrons. Check out a few of the ones we received this past week.
A Nutcracker Christmas. A former ballerina is forced to come to terms with the life and love she left behind. Lilly Jamison gave up a life of dancing and is raising her sister’s daughter. Her niece is offered the lead role in The Nutcracker and it turns out that the director is none other than her ex-boyfriend. She must discover if there is a second chance for her both in ballet and in love.
A Christmas to Remember. In this movie, a harsh TV personality needs a break from her stressful life and decides to drive to a small town mountain retreat. On the way a blizzard causes her to crash. When she comes to, she has lost her memory. A friendly man takes her in. He is a recent widower with young children, who is still grieving for his late wife. They share a magical holiday that will heal and transform them all.
I’ll Be Home for Christmas. Jackie is a single mother and an Assistant District Attorney who is looking forward to wrapping up her latest case and spending a fun Christmas with her daughter. But then her estranged father shows up at her door. Jack is a retired police officer who has not seen his daughter and granddaughter in years. Now they all will have to confront old wounds and reconnect with each other.
