Patrons are also welcome to call 337-463-6217 x 0 during the DeRidder branch's open hours for the most recent updates on branch openings. Computer use is limited and by appointment only. Patrons can schedule appointments online here or by calling 337-463-6217 or in-person by asking a library clerk. Appointments are set at 45-minute intervals. No consecutive appointments for 1 person.

Beauregard Parish Library, one of the member libries of Libries Southwest consortium, is proud to announce the 2017 LSW Author Dinner. The event will feature the Lynda Carlberg Award, named in memory of the former director of Calcasieu Parish Library system, and honoring special individuals for their contributions to libraries. The Lynda Carlberg Award recipient this year is Louisiana State Librarian Rebecca Hamilton.
Following the presentation of the Lynda Carlberg Award is an author program from Beauregard Parish native Curt Iles, who has published several books about rural life and spent three years recently on a three-year mission trip to Africa.
The Libraries Southwest Author Dinner will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Treasures of Marilyn's in Lake Charles. The buffet-style meal has several choices to suit various dietary restrictions and preferences. Ticket price is $30 per person, and interested individuals should register for the event by October 1st.
