Aviation enthusiasts, today is the 40th anniversary of the first man-powered flight. On August 23, 1977, in Schafter, California, "Bryan Allen pedaled the 70-pound Gossamer Condor for a mile at 'minimal altitude of two pylons' in a flight certified by the Royal Aeronautical Society of Britain." *
