They Left Us Everything by Plum Johnson
Five adult siblings are faced with clearing out their parents' 23 room home after their deaths. The home is filled with 23 years of history, antiques and oxygen tanks. The task turns out to be much harder and more rewarding than they imagined.
I was thinking, "I don't want to do this to my children," until I read the line in the book where a friend said, "I must not do this to my children." The daughter answered, "but you will be denying them the memories of it all if you clear things out."
This was a very good, well-written book.
If They Left Us Everything interests you, feel free to request or check it out. We'll be back next Thursday with a different Staff Pick.
