If you are a fan of the role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons, you might be interested in a new book we received this week.

Check out: Tales from the Yawning Portal compiled by Kim Mohan and Mike Mearls. This richly illustrated book contains seven of the most compelling dungeons from the more than forty year history of the game. These adventures have been inspired by places and events in far-flung lands across the D&D universe, collected in a single volume for your enjoyment. Many are classics that have been updated for use with the fifth edition of the Player’s Handbook.

According to user comments from Amazon, the adventures are short and easy to read. They are detailed but open to interpretation and are appropriate for both experienced players and those new to the game. The user also states that, although it is designed to be used with fifth edition rules, it would not be too difficult to adapt to other editions.

If this sounds like something that interests you, come in and check it out. The book can be found in the adult non-fiction section of the library in Dewey number 793.93. If you need help locating this or any other item, be sure to ask one of our helpful staff members.
