During Phase 2, the Beauregard Parish Library is open with limited hours and limited services. Additional details can be seen here. Within those limitations, further closures may become necessary on short notice due to staff shortages. We will update our social media accounts in those instances. Patrons are also welcome to call 337-463-6217 x 0 during the DeRidder branch's open hours for the most recent updates on branch openings. Computer use is limited and by appointment only. Patrons can schedule appointments online here or by calling 337-463-6217 or in-person by asking a library clerk. Appointments are set at 45-minute intervals. No consecutive appointments for 1 person.

Need a suggestion for something to read or watch from the library this weekend? Maybe you'd like to check out an ebook or audiobook? Try some of our Staff Picks, to find what some of the other people in our parish are enjoying.
We know that not every staff pick will appeal to every patron, but not to worry! If you need help selecting something, we have online tools like Book Browse and our Online Catalog, or you can ask one of our friendly staff members to help search for you.
Nolo’s Essential Guide to Divorce by Emily Doskow
My Staff Pick is Nolo’s Essential Guide to Divorce. It has been an extremely valuable resource in going through my divorce. You can avoid some potential problems by reading this book, and it will help to alleviate some of the stress and anxiety associated with divorce. I have heard that divorce is the most stressful event that can occur in a person’s life. Now that I have experienced it, I would agree.
This book covers topics such as: contested and uncontested divorce, mediation, custody, child support, property division, spousal support, insurance, preparing a marital settlement agreement, military divorces, and post divorce agendas. It provides financial forms that you will need to complete as part of your divorce. This is generally one of the first forms an attorney will expect you to complete. This manual includes online resources where other necessary material may be retrieved.
Obviously, I hope that none of you will ever need this book; but in some cases it is unavoidable. This book can save you time and money.
If Nolo's Essential Guide to Divorce interests you, feel free to request or check it out. We'll be back next Thursday with a different Staff Pick.
