Free Music from Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones

Micky Dolenz formerly of The Monkees celebrates his birthday this month. So you can use your weekly five free downloads or your daily free three hours of streaming music to hear his music or that of Davy Jones (also formerly of The Monkees).

From Micky Dolenz, the album King for a Day with many songs like “Go Away Little Girl”, “Crying in the Rain” and a re-styling of The Monkees song “Sometime in the Morning”. Also, (under the misspelling "Mickey"), the 2007 dance re-mix single “Don’t Do It”. And “Best Friend” with Brandon Cruz (the child who played Eddie on Courtship of Eddie’s Father which the library owns) from Eddie Is A Punk.

Then there is Davy Jones: Bell Recordings, an album Davy recorded in the 1970’s after The Monkees. There are many pop songs, two of the most famous are “Girl” (yes, it’s the same one he sang on The Brady Bunch), and “Rainy Jane”. Also, “The Road to Love” and “Sitting in the Apple Tree”. And the different “Look at Me” which describes feeling invisible and wondering when your day will come.

Davy Jones and Peter Tork (formerly of The Monkees) sing along with Buffy Ford Stewart on “Daydream Believer” from Same Old Heart.
