Just Arrived

Now that Thanksgiving is over, many of us are in the Christmas spirit. If you are in that frame of mind and are looking for a quick, fun, Christmas-themed book to read, we have some new ones that might interest you.

For fans of Inspirational Romance, check out His Holiday Matchmaker by Kat Brookes. Widowed builder Nathan Cooper’s six year old daughter wants only one thing for Christmas – a new mother. But Nathan doesn’t want to risk any more heartache for either of them. When interior designer Alyssa McCall comes to town, both he and his daughter are charmed. As they work together, Nathan and Alyssa form a connection, but Alyssa worries that she can’t be the mother little Katie needs. Katie, and her handsome father, are determined to prove her wrong and this could be a Christmas to remember.

If mystery is more your style, try Feliz Navidead by Ann Myers. Chef Rita Lafitte of Santa Fe’s Tres Amigas Cafe hopes that the twinkling lights and tasty treats of the season will charm her visiting mother. She has several fun activities planned, including watching her teenage daughter perform in an outdoor Christmas play. But she didn’t plan on murder. When she discovers a dead actor during the premier performance, she vows to stay clear of the case. Sleuthing would really upset her mother and there is already a prime suspect, caught red-handed in his bloody Santa suit. When Santa’s wife begs her for assistance and points out that the other actors, including Rita’s daughter, could be in danger, Rita can’t refuse. Will she be able to salvage her mother’s vacation, unmask a murderer, and stop the festive season from becoming more deadly?

Perhaps you prefer a western. If so, A Colorado Christmas by William W. Johnstone with J.A. Johnstone is for you. At the Sugarloaf Ranch, Smoke and Sally Jensen prepare to welcome their friend Preacher home for the holidays. But all sorts of troubles are brewing. Preacher is being chased by a gunfighter out to kill him. Bounty hunter Luke Jensen is after a different criminal. Ace and Chance Jensen have rescued an old trapper from some ruthless outlaws and another criminal mastermind is gathering a vicious gang of cutthroats to extract his final revenge on his enemies. Now with a snowstorm coming and a showdown ready to explode, these friends will be drawn together to try to forge peace on earth. But they will have to fight for it with their guns drawn.
