Even though it’s not Thanksgiving yet, many people are starting to get in the Christmas spirit. The Hallmark Channel has started showing its many holiday themed movies that many of our patrons seem to enjoy. Each year we add to our collection of these heartwarming films on DVD. Check out a few that arrived this week:
Christmas With Tucker. George, a thirteen year old boy, struggles to deal with the death of his father. He develops a friendship with a dog named Tucker that helps him in this struggle. When he is afraid he might lose the dog, he makes a poor decision in his attempt to hold onto him. He feels guilty and attempts to correct his mistake, but this may cost him the best friend he has ever had.
A Christmas Melody. Single mother Kristin and her daughter Emily move from New York back to her hometown in Ohio in order to start over in her parents’ old home. It’s a difficult adjustment for both of them, made worse when Kristin’s old high school rival makes trouble for them. With the help of the school music teacher and Kristin’s aunt, along with some holiday magic and music, they soon discover that home is where the heart is.
A Crown for Christmas. After being fired from her job as a maid, Allie takes a job in Europe as a governess for a young princess who lives in a castle. The child’s father, King Maximillian, tells Allie that his daughter tends to terrorize authority figures and has gotten worse since the death of her mother. Despite this, Allie and the princess manage to get along and become close. And soon a spark begans to develop between Allie and the king. But there is a countess who is expecting to marry the king. The king will have to stand up for his feelings if they are all to have a truly merry Christmas.
