Beauregard Parish Library has one more week left of our genealogy database trials. We currently subscribe to World Vital Records, but sometimes patrons prefer other products instead. Now is the time to test one or all of them out and tell us what you want!
You can access the trials through the Database Trials link at the top of our index page. We are testing Ancestry.com Library Edition, Fold 3 and HeritageQuest.
Ancestry is one of the biggest names in Genealogy searching, so we are excited to see how our patrons feel about this database. Ancestry Library Edition is a genealogy research tool created specifically for the library market. It provides patrons with access to a wide range of genealogical and historical research. With more than 1.5 billion names in over 4,000 databases, Ancestry Library Edition includes records from the United States Census; military records; court, land and probate records; vital and church records; directories; passenger lists and more! These collections are continuously expanding, with new content added every business day.
Fold3™ Library Edition by Ancestry in unique in that it provides access to US military records, including the stories, photos and documents of the men and women who served. It contains millions of records from world-class archives, many of which are exclusively available on Fold3. This database will be useful for historians, genealogists, researchers, military enthusiasts, veterans and their families, teachers and battle re-enactors.
Digitized from the popular UMI; Genealogy and Local History collection on microfiche, this online database is an essential collection of unique material for both genealogical hobbyists and professionals.
Remember, access to these trials ends July 11. Please email any feedback about these three databases to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
