During Phase 2, the Beauregard Parish Library is open with limited hours and limited services. Additional details can be seen here. Within those limitations, further closures may become necessary on short notice due to staff shortages. We will update our social media accounts in those instances. Patrons are also welcome to call 337-463-6217 x 0 during the DeRidder branch's open hours for the most recent updates on branch openings. Computer use is limited and by appointment only. Patrons can schedule appointments online here or by calling 337-463-6217 or in-person by asking a library clerk. Appointments are set at 45-minute intervals. No consecutive appointments for 1 person.

Getting started with Columbia Granger’s World of Poetry:
This week we wanted to spread the word about a database that may not be well known among our patrons, Columbia Granger’s World of Poetry. Columbia Granger’s World of Poetry contains 250,000 poems in full text and 450,000 citations. These poems are available in many different languages including English, Spanish, French, and German. This database is a great resource for anyone who enjoys reading or writing poetry, whether it be for personal entertainment or a school project.
Finding the Granger’s Guided Tour: The best place to start when using this database for the first time is the Guided Tour. The virtual video tour is located on the left hand side of the homepage and offers patrons the chance to learn about the different collections housed in the database. From the homepage simply look at the options on the left hand side and click on “Take the Granger’s Guided Tour Here.” Stay tuned next week when we talk about tips and tricks for using Granger’s Advanced Search.
