Once again we are beginning a new year and many of us have made resolutions to be healthier. One way to accomplish this goal is by exercising. There are many studies showing the benefits, both physical and mental, that exercise can provide. But finding exercise programs that you will actually want to do can be difficult. Let the library help! Of course, always check with a doctor or other medical professional before beginning any exercise program. But once you have the all-clear, here are a few DVD programs to check out.
The experts at Weight Watchers have created some great DVDs to get you moving. You might try their new 7 Day Tone & Burn. This is an easy to follow workout program that will get you on the road to results. It has two 30 minute workouts that are designed to be done alternating days of the week for six days with a day of rest. Each workout has variations for beginners, intermediate and advanced users.
Or you might consider Complete Yoga for Beginners with renowned instructor Rodney Yee. This DVD contains two programs to help beginners learn the basics of yoga. Learn correct form, and move through a variety of simple poses and sequences that will help increase flexibility, energize the body and calm the mind.
If you enjoy walking or cycling but don’t want to brave the cold weather, here is something a little different to try. The DVD Through the Forest is designed to be played while using a treadmill or exercise bike. It makes it feel as if you are walking, jogging or cycling along beautiful forest paths. There are three different paths with different views accompanied by the natural sounds of the forest.
