With Staff Picks, we would like to offer recommendations from our staff to you. These picks will be from a variety of reading, listening or viewing tastes. You might find stuff you've checked out before, or you might be intrigued enough to find a new favorite.
In honor of Veterans Day on November 11th, one of our staff recommends this to you as "a very good book" and adds "I couldn't hardly lay it down."
No Place to Hide: A Brain Surgeon's Long Journey Home from the Iraq War by W. Lee Warren, MD
No Place to Hide: A Brain Surgeon's Long Journey Home from the Iraq War by W. Lee Warren, MD, was a very informative book, describing what it is like to be a doctor in the middle of a war zone. The book gives a day to day description of the horrors and triumphs of caring for our soldiers, civilians and even the enemy.
If this book interests you, feel free to request and check it out. We'll be back next Wednesday with a different Staff Pick.
